Research

Unlike traditional Research and Development (R&D), which emphasizes knowledge generation and theory construction, we focus on "research" aiming at marketability of productions of LRDC, identifying training needs, conducting classroom of available materials which could be made available to meet the practical needs of trainers and students. The key point for LRDC is to be a major "reference source" of information on instructional materials for improving the quality and standard of skills development trainnig in the contry. This is a very important function for the LRDC to be the leader in its field of specialization.

Innovaton

We serve as a "think tank" to come up with new ideas, new thinking, new design, new approaches and new products, or in short "innovations" that will contribute to the improvements of quality and relevance of skills development and training. This function is the second step following the "findings" or "discoveries" of the action research function.

Development

Before any instructional material produced for mass distribution, prototypes or models must be developed, field tested. validated, and revised to ensure that they will be adopted and can be used effectively by the trainers and trainees in actual training situation. The development fuctional palys a critical role in this process.

Dissemination

Systematic dissemination of the materials to be targeted for training institutions and clients is an important activity of the LRDC. However, to be cost effective and to make the best use of its resources and fecilities and LRDC should also disseminate other related materials, knowledge, and information to its clients to enable them to catch up with the developments in the field. Dissemination can be done through various channels including the use of online services such as internet and websites which can be easily updated on a regular basis.

Training

Before the instructional material used in the classrooms and labotatories, the users must be trained on how to make the best use of the materials to help their trainees acquire the skills required for the jobs for which they are being trained. Training of trainers for effective adoption and use of the instructional materials is very crucial for success of the CBT program.
